About Model United Nations

Model United Nations gives students the opportunity to step into the role of a diplomat and work with other students to address real-world issues. Students represent an assigned country, research its policies and perspectives, and work with other delegates to develop solutions to global challenges.

What Students Do

Before the conference, students research their country and the issues their committee will address. At the conference, they give speeches, write resolutions, negotiate with other delegates, participate in committee discussions, and work together to find solutions.
Students learn to understand different perspectives, advocate for their country's position, and work toward agreements with others.

Why Participate?

Model UN is a great fit for students interested in history, government, current events, international affairs, writing, speech and debate, or simply learning how the world works. Along the way, students strengthen their research, writing, public speaking, critical thinking, negotiation, and collaboration skills while meeting and working with students from other schools.

No previous Model UN experience is required.
