Mathematics Program Pilot

Pre-Algebra

The IEProgram is thrilled to announce a new pilot Pre-algebra class for the 2025-2026 school year. It will be taught by Andy Huff in Provo.

Students will build a solid foundation in Pre-Algebra. Topics will include Integers, Rounding, Multiples & Greatest Common Factors, Fractions, Ratios & Decimals, Equations & Percentages, Exponents & Roots, Two-Step Equations & Inequalities, and Graphing.

By the end of the class, students will have the skills and confidence they need to move into Algebra and beyond.

The class is a mix of live instruction, hands-on activities, and guided practice two times every week.

  • In-person class: Mondays at 10:00 AM (2 hours) at the 7th Day Adventist Church, Room 6
  • Zoom session: Thursdays at 8:30 AM (1 hour)

The class will use a combination of worksheets and class handouts, short readings, group problem-solving and discussions, occasional videos or math games, extra practice available on KhanAcademy.com

The structure of the week is intentional to support steady progress:

  • Monday: Students read assigned sections before class
  • Tuesday: We go over the new material in creative and supportive ways
  • Wednesday: Students work on their homework independently or in groups
  • Thursday: We review homework, answer questions, and practice more
  • Friday: Time to finish anything left

All assignments are provided, and open communication is encouraged so students always feel supported. It’s a fun, encouraging environment where everyone can grow their math confidence!

This class is designed with 12–13-year-old students in mind, but anyone who feels confident on our PRE-TEST and is excited to learn Pre-Algebra is welcome to join.
